Onsite Rehabilitation & Training

  1. Supporting Rescue Groups by funding onsite rehabilitation training and long-term      boarding to prepare shelter or rescue dogs for successful adoption through reputable rescue groups.
  2. Preventing Owner Surrender by offering behavior rehabilitation services to the general public that are struggling with their dog's behavioral issues, but do not want to surrender their dog and are willing to do the work by modifying their reactions and creating new habits.
  3. Rebuilding Trust with rescued dogs by implementing patience-first training methods to correct unwanted behaviors.

Medical Financial Assistance

  1. Breaking Financial Barriers by providing full or partial financial aid based on the owner's or rescue's economic needs.
  2. Preventative Care including covering the cost of wellness checks, mandatory vaccines, and critical spay/neuter surgeries.
  3. Life-Saving Interventions including financial aid for emergency surgeries to ensure no dog is relinquished to the vet clinic or a shelter or euthanized solely due to medical costs.

Free Community Education

  1. Empowering Pet Parents & Foster Pet Parents by providing free training and informational courses on how to properly integrate a new rescue dog into a new home or a foster home, tailored for all personnel working at shelters, rescues, and as fosters.

Our mission includes helping other non-profits that align with our vision, as well as financially assisting the people who find themselves struggling to pay an unplanned vet bill. This assistance is the difference between a dog being relinquished to a shelter vs staying in the home with people that truly love them.

Meet Kevin & Sue Walsh-Founders of Promise 4 Paws Rescue

We have known Lori, Donny, and Nick for more than fifteen years, from Doggy Hydeaway in Valley Center to their current facility, Two Paws Up.

Sue and I are longtime dog and cat rescuers and founders of Promise 4 Paws, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in South Orange County. Our relationship with Lori, Donny and Nick began in 2012 when they agreed to board and train Elvis, a shelter dog at risk of euthanasia because he was considered difficult to handle, though he had no bite record. Their willingness to help Elvis began an amazing journey and showed us the care, skill, and dedication they bring to every dog. It was a year-long journey, but Elvis finally found his forever home.

Lori, Donny, and Nick run a first-class board-and-train facility, especially for dogs struggling to adjust to new environments. Their boarding and overnight care give dogs a safe place to socialize, play, and feel comfortable in a kennel-free, home-like environment.

Nick has been especially helpful to me, showing me how to understand and deal with different breeds that are having trouble adjusting to a new environment. He has a calm, clear understanding of dog behavior and is one of the few trainers I turn to for difficult issues.

Over the years, we have worked together to save and rehabilitate hundreds of dogs that might not otherwise have survived. The team goes the extra mile to prepare each dog for a new home and remains available for follow-up support.

Today, Two Paws Up is a highly successful board-and-train facility where dogs are cared for in a wonderful environment while their owners are away. We are thrilled to see them combine the use of their incredible facility at Two Paws Up with the non-profit Doggy Hydeaway Rescue Rebab mission!
