Dog behavior rehabilitation is the process of helping dogs overcome behavioral challenges by understanding the psychology behind their actions rather than simply correcting the symptoms. By learning how dogs think, communicate, and interpret the world around them, we can address the root causes of issues such as fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, and insecurity. Through clear, consistent communication in a language dogs naturally understand-using body language, energy, timing, and leadership-we create trust, clarity, and balance. This approach allows dogs to develop confidence, make better decisions, and build a healthier relationship with their human companions, resulting in lasting behavioral change and a more harmonious life together.
Who Needs It?
While obedience training teaches a dog commands like "sit" or "stay", Behavior Rehabilitation is used to fix underlying psychological and emotional issues.

Nick has spent 15 years working directly in the field of dog behavior. After graduating from Animal Behavior College in 2013, he gained hands-on experience with hundreds of dogs during four years at Doggy Hydeaway Boarding Facility.
After relocating to Orange County, Nick continued his work with dogs facing serious behavior challenges, including rescue dogs who had been deemed “unadoptable” because of their issues. Over the years, he has refined his approach through extensive one-on-one work with some of the most severe cases.
Nick is known for his calm, confident presence and his ability to understand how dogs think, communicate, and interpret the world around them. His strengths include:
· Reading and responding to canine behavior with clarity and patience
· Developing effective processes for complex behavior cases
· Communicating clearly with the people caring for dogs with behavior challenges
These qualities have helped make Nick an exceptional behaviorist and a trusted guide for both dogs and their humans.

Donny has been involved with animals since early childhood. Growing up in rural La Habra Heights, he was surrounded by dogs, horses, and chickens, giving him an early appreciation for animal care and behavior.
After 13 years as a general contractor, Donny shifted his focus to working with dogs at his family’s business, Doggy Hydeaway Boarding Facility. This hands-on experience helped him develop a strong foundation in daily dog care, pack management, and facility operations.
In 2016, Donny and his sister, Lori, purchased Two Paws Up. Donny quickly took on management of the dog yards, where he oversaw dog handlers and managed a daily pack of approximately 35 dogs.
His daily work with large groups of dogs has given him valuable insight into dog behavior, socialization, and training. Today, Donny continues to oversee the facility and dog handlers at Two Paws Up while also providing obedience training and behavior coaching.
